Another Egg Breakfast
During the week of its 100th anniversary celebration, Lake City Bank hosted its Third Annual Egg Breakfast together with Creighton Brothers at the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds. With all the attention on the bank that week, it hoped to draw attention to the importance of egg production to the local economy.
Turnout had grown each of the breakfast’s first three years. The first egg breakfast had drawn 400 people, then 600 the second year. May 16, 1972 brought as many as both years together.
More than 1,000 guests showed up this time, and it took 200 dozen eggs and 100 pounds of bacon to feed them. Whether people wanted to help the bank celebrate or they were just hungry, the strong turnout helped make sure the Annual Egg Breakfast would return for years to come.
