Why do you value working at Lake City Bank?
I’m proud to work for Lake City Bank because the bank is committed to offering growth and leadership opportunities to employees. It’s fulfilling to watch people that I have helped to join the bank grow into different roles within the bank. I also value the strong friendships I have forged and the opportunity to meet strong female mentors to encourage me in my own journey.
How does Lake City Bank exemplify its core value of inclusivity?
Lake City Bank works diligently to create a baseline awareness of what it means to be inclusive for all employees, and to help broaden everyone’s horizons with a variety of learning opportunities. Creating a more diverse and inclusive workforce strengthens our business by bringing fresh ideas and perspectives to the table. Being on the Diversity and Inclusion task force, I’m learning about and celebrating the cultures and social norms of others which makes me more empathetic and a better friend, co-worker and employee.
What have Lake City Bank’s diversity and inclusion efforts taught you so far?
Inclusion is not a box to check, or a goal to meet but a continuous learning process. For example, I’ve learned that everyone has unconscious bias. While I wish I could remove all bias, I know that I need to be aware and actively work to counteract it.
Inclusivity, one of Lake City Bank’s core values, underscores the bank’s commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture with equal opportunities for all employees. In 2023, the bank launched We are Lake City Bank to provide employees an opportunity to share their experiences working at the bank. Read more employee experiences here.
